A set of ordered co-ordinates that represent the shape of geographic features too narrow to be displayed as an area at the given scale (contours, street centrelines, or streams), or linear features with no area (county boundary lines)
Line (or arc) is used to represent linear features. Common examples would be rivers, trails, and streets. Line features only have one dimension and therefore can only be used to measure length. Line features have a starting and ending point. Common examples would be road centerlines and hydrology.
