For questions related to geospatial data from or about the Netherlands (NLD), a country of Western Europe
In the Netherlands, the national spatial data infrastructure (SDI) is called "Nationaal Georegister (NGR)" and harbors all available public geospatial data sets about the country. Before the NGR was set up, all public geospatial data were available on the website of "Publieke Dienstverlening Op de Kaart (PDOK)". Currently, both websites have the same content and are only available in Dutch.
The Netherlands does not operate any earth observation (EO) satellites, however, it has a national scheme for buying and distributing commercial EO data for free within the Netherlands. This is done via the "Satellietdataprotaal" operated by the Netherlands Space Office. The data available on this website are from TripleSat, PlanetScope, RapidEye, Fermosat, and Radarsat-2 among others.
The national projection system used in the Netherlands is "RD New (EPSG 28992)", which stands for "Rijksdriehoeksmeting", or "National triangulation measurements".
