An interface in several GIS/mapping softwares for presenting data and visually altering the presentation using a slider bar based on a time/date attribute.

A timeslider is a standard slider bar interface that is linked to time/date attributes within data. Moving the slider back and forth changes the information shown based on the data's time/date attribute value. For example polygons could have a year attribute, and when associated with a timeslider they could appear (and remain or disappear) as the slider was dragged from an earlier year to the present.
