I was introduced to GIS in 2008 as a module in my archaeology degree and found its use as a tool for interpreting data really interesting.
I did a basic GIS course after my degree and got a job with Cornwall Council putting simple data onto the system. After my time at the council project ended I got a job with a mine search company in 2013 where I'm being given the chance to really develop my knowledge of GIS.
I am now looking at managing databases and GIS systems for others rather than simply putting data onto the system. Since starting I have done courses in FME and QGIS and am starting a course in PostGIS soon and working towards a chartership with RICS in geomatics.
I am working to improve my knowledge at every opportunity I can as I still have so much to learn as still pretty new to this area.
