I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Tennessee who is passionate about data science. I have strong background in math, statistics, and machine learning, and well versed with machine learning algorithms and libraries in Python and R. My research focuses on the application of high-resolution geospatial data in the study of various Earth-surface processes, especially the hillslope erosion and glacier movement. I emphasize the use of machine-learning methods in advancing our understanding in the geophysical domain.
I have published peer-review journal articles and a book chapter regarding the application of geospatial data in geophysical domains, including Annals of American Association of Geographers, International Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, Journal of Maps, and others. I have membership in professional academic societies including American Geophysical Union, American Association of Geographers, Geological Society of America, and Sigma Xi.
I am also the co-owner of 3 cats, and I love photography (especially portrait photography) and hiking. I also enjoy cooking different types of meals from all around the world.
