I am a technology visionary, leader, and hands-on technologist. I love to manage large groups of programmers and then to solve the truly hard organizational or technical challenges that are only conquerable by a gifted and passionate team. I have enjoyed writing full-stack code and focused on web and mobile infrastructures that scale and are used in real-world operations.

I have been building life-saving enterprise and military large-scale systems for 20 years. I also work on non-Government projects, including a lot of volunteer and open source programming.

I love working with teams, and mentoring young (and old!) programmers and engineers. I focus much of my attention on leadership and learning how to communicate hard messages as well as how to sell valuable ideas and technologies to those who would most benefit from them.
