Well I git the idea with Ecplise as well esp. cause I am editing my scripts in Eclipse. Jason, did I understand it right, that arcgis 10.1 comes along with matplotlib?

Thanks, but it seems that the Numpy 1.5.0. Version is a problem in any case - in another forum I got pretty much the same hint that ArcGIS just works with Numpy 1.3.0.. So it seems that this will not work either. I may have to look for another solution to get matplotlib run in ArcGIS

thanks for the tip, this is indeed a quite nice source I didn't know about. Unfortunatly the matplotlib version here doesn't work either. Even if I just run a simple script I always get the message: No module named pyplot Thats the reason why I thought to try something different.

@Brad principally the idea looks nice but they tool neither seem to be able to be controlled by pythonscripting nor it seem to support any star plots / radar charts. Hopefully in future!

This would be great as the version 10.1 is not shipped out in Germany yet, so I have to find a solution before that. Thanks! Werner

Furthermore I tried it like you suggested by exporting the graph as a file. I know the possibilities of built in of Arcgis and even took into account the use of templates, but as the graph options are still a little weak (of course they got much better in the recent years) I was looking for alternatives. Matplotlib seemed to be the tool that would fit my needs. Unfortunatly I didnt get it run; see also my post at the ESRIForum: forums.arcgis.com/threads/…
