PHP library to get center of the polygon center
GeoPHP is a popular extension for geospatial manipulation and had a centroid method for what you want to do.

GeoPHP cannot find any lines contained or intersection my polygons by QGIS does
I found the solution. As a matter of fact "contains" is a feature from GEOS. I installed GEOS and now it works.

Thanks, I believe that I figured it out. I should be able to store the "Point(333...,466...)" that was returned in the first SELECT and then feed it to second SELECT.
